Ukraine introduces fines for selling medicines to children

The Parliament of Ukraine has supported the bill No. 5123-1, which introduces penalties for selling medicines to persons under 14 years of age, during the second reading.

The law amends the Code of Administrative Offences, namely - a new Article 42-5, which establishes responsibility for the sale (including through information and communication systems by remote means) and delivery of medicines to minors. Not only pharmacies will be fined, but also companies that sell drugs via the Internet with home delivery.

If this is the first violation, the seller will be fined from 6.8 thousand to 13.6 thousand hryvnia, and if it is repeated - from 13.6 thousand to 23.8 thousand hryvnia.
