On Thursday, November 18, the President's Office presented eight housing warrants to combatants and relatives of servicemen who died defending the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

"These are the first steps of gratitude and respect for the heroes and their families, which the state demonstrates by real deeds," said Andrei Yermak, head of the OC on this occasion.

Volunteer Oksana Lazebnik, who deals with children of the dead heroes, expressed her gratitude to Uladzimir Zelenski and representatives of the President's Office for assistance in providing housing.

In her turn, Minister of Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine Yuliya Laputina said that veterans' policy and, in particular, the issue of providing housing is a priority for the current government. She expressed the hope that the support of the military will be increased next year. Alena Verbytskaya, the Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders of Ukraine, added that now she observed almost the biggest support and assistance from the government to solve the problems of defenders and their families over the last eight years.
