The Security Service of Ukraine reported the prevention of a terrorist attack in Cherkasy region. According to the security forces, two students were preparing a mass shooting of classmates at a college in the region, and they discussed their plan in the social network VK, which is banned in Ukraine. This was reported on Wednesday, December 8, the press service of the agency.

The SBU claims that the two young men published posts on the social network with photos and videos that may indicate the preparation of a terrorist attack. In addition, they were looking for like-minded people to organize the shooting.

Law enforcers found two guns, as well as computers and other gadgets with evidence of planning a terrorist attack at the place of residence of the students.

Security Service opened a criminal investigation under Part 1 of Article 14, part 1 of Article 258 (preparation of a terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the investigation is ongoing.

According to the representative of the Cherkasy regional prosecutor's office Svetlana Andreichenko, one of the detainees wanted to take revenge on his classmates for "systematic insults" by shooting.
