On Thursday, Poroshenko is summoned to the State Bureau of Investigation

The fifth president, and now MP Petro Poroshenko, who today was informed of a suspicion, was summoned to the SBI on Thursday. This was reported by law enforcement officials during a briefing.

 

"Since the said person, the former President of Ukraine, did not arrive today on summons, we sent a second summons on Thursday, December 23 at 10 o'clock. That's when the issue of serving a petition for a measure of restraint will be decided," said a representative of the SBI.

 

Today, the fifth President of Ukraine, now a people's deputy of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was reported on suspicion of committing high treason and assisting in the activities of terrorist organizations.

 

Investigators of the SBU in cooperation with SBU investigators and under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General are investigating criminal proceedings regarding the criminal scheme of coal supplies from the temporarily occupied territories and assistance to the terrorist organizations "LNR" and "DNR" by a group of Ukrainian citizens.

 

The proceedings are being investigated under Part 1 and Part 3 of Art. 258-5 (Financing of terrorism), Part. 1 of Article 111 (high treason) and part 1 of Article 258-3 (Establishment of a terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

 

In September-November 2021, MP Viktor Medvedchuk and former Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn have already been reported on suspicion in these proceedings.
