The first case of the Omicron strain was detected in Ukraine over the weekend. Now this person has already had a negative PCR test.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a briefing of the chief sanitary doctor Igor Kuzin.
He told what the condition of the first person infected with Omicron is now.
"Regarding the case of Omicron found in Ukraine. Thanks to the fact that the patient was vaccinated back in spring, the disease was almost asymptomatic. Now his PCR-test is negative", - he said.
Recall that the head of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) stated that the current vaccines against coronavirus are less effective against the Omicron strain.
We would like to add that the Omicron coronavirus strain was detected in Ukraine on December 18.
Earlier, the WHO warned that the new strain poses a very high global risk.
