U.S. approves $200 million in additional military aid for Ukraine - mass media

At the end of December, US President Joe Biden's administration approved an additional $200m in military aid for Ukraine. This was reported by CNN.

It is noted that the aid was approved a few weeks before negotiations with Russia and without drawing extra attention to it. Earlier this month, the White House administration announced its decision to Congress without publicity.

According to sources cited by CNN, the aid package included defense equipment supplied by the U.S. in the past, including small arms and ammunition, secure communications systems, medical equipment, spare parts and other equipment.

It is noted that the delivery of the equipment will take some time.

As of mid-December, the United States had provided more than $450 million in security assistance to Ukraine.

The US defence budget for 2022 envisages allocating 300 million dollars to Kiev in the framework of the initiative to provide security assistance to Ukraine, in particular in support of the Ukrainian armed forces.
