The Ukrainian Defense Minister and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine signed a joint order on Thursday "On the Day of Honoring the Defenders of Donetsk Airport", according to which in the system of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry it will be celebrated on January 20, according to the website of the Ministry of Defense.

"Establish in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Day of honoring defenders of the Donetsk airport, which will be celebrated annually on January 20," the message says.

According to the order, a number of ceremonial and commemorative events will be organized and held annually during January, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of defenders of the airport. They include honoring the memory of servicemen of the AFU, who defended Donetsk airport, in the memorial complex on the territory of the Ministry of Defense, where the Hall of memory of defenders of Ukraine and the Memorial bell.

There will also be thematic meetings, lectures, book exhibitions, viewing and discussion of documentaries and newsreels devoted to the theme of Donetsk airport defense and honoring its defenders in military units of the AFU, higher military educational institutions and libraries.
