"Gazprom" doubles gas transit through Ukraine

The Russian company "Gazprom" today, February 1, doubled the transit of gas through Ukraine, up to 107 million cubic meters per day, according to UNIAN.

This was stated by the General Director of "GTS Operator" Sergey Makogon.

He confirmed that daily transportation of gas increased from 54 mln cubic meters up to 107 mln cubic meters. At the same time, Makohon stressed that such volume of transit is stipulated in the contract in force with "Gazprom".

"Gazprom's reservation is 109 million cubic meters per day. That is, they just returned to the contractual volume," he explained.

At the same time, the head of the company finds it difficult to guess whether the increase in transit is due to the cold weather or is caused by political motives.
