Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation are conducting searches in the Krivoy Rog city council and its executive committee. The searches are carried out in the case of official negligence, which led to the loss of almost 700 million hryvnias to the budget. This is reported by the press service of the SBU.

According to the investigation, as of April 1, 2021 between the Krivoy Rog city council and one of the city-forming enterprises concluded 82 land lease agreements.

"Because of the improper performance of their official duties by officials of the City Council in the interests of business, the cost of land rent was significantly underestimated. As a consequence, the enterprise did not pay to the budget almost 700 million UAH", - stated in the message.

Now GBR investigators are seizing the relevant contracts and other supporting documentation. Preliminary qualification: malpractice, which caused grave consequences (Part 2, Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The article is punishable by imprisonment for up to 5 years.
