Occupiers deported more than 70 women in labor and doctors from Mariupol maternity hospital - ombudsman

From Mariupol, the occupants removed to the Russian Federation or to the occupied territories more than 70 people in the maternity hospital №2 - women in labor and doctors, according to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova.

 

"The enemy continues the forced deportation of Ukrainian citizens from places of permanent residence to the temporarily occupied territories or to the territory of the Russian Federation. From Mariupol, which is under blockade by Russian troops, the enemy removed more than 70 people - women in labor and doctors from the maternity hospital No. 2 in the Left Bank district of the city," Denisova said in a message in the telegram channel on Wednesday.

 

The ombudsman stressed that such actions of the occupants threaten the lives and health of women and newborn children, violating their right to life, liberty and security of person, guaranteed by Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
