In addition, Woodward said at the UN Security Council in New York that Britain acted as a guarantor of a loan from the World Bank for Ukraine in the amount of 1 billion dollars.

The diplomat also welcomed the investigation by the International Criminal Court into the war crimes committed by the Russian army in various Ukrainian cities, in particular in Bucha, Irpen, Borodyanka and Chernihiv.

Woodward stresses that there is no doubt that "punishment will follow for these crimes against humanity."

Earlier it was reported that the World Bank was preparing a 1.5bn-dollar aid package for Ukraine.
