A child died as a result of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

"As of the morning of May 4, 2022, more than 629 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to official data, 221 children were killed, more than 408 were wounded," the report noted.

According to the prosecutor's office, the most affected children were in the Donetsk region - 139, Kyiv region - 116, Kharkiv region - 95, Chernihiv region - 68, Kherson region - 46, Mykolaiv region - 44, Luhansk region - 37, Zaporizhzhia region - 27, Sumy region - 17, in Kyiv city - 16 , Zhitomyr region - 15.

The data will change, as they are set in the places of active combat operations in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

On May 3, a 9-year-old girl was wounded because of enemy shelling of Bolshoi Uhol village in Mykolaiv region.

In the village of Shibino, the body of a 10-year-old girl was found dead from shrapnel wounds caused by an enemy shell hitting her house.
