China rejected the Asian Cup in 2023

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the Chinese side to cancel the Asian Cup in 2023. The final tournament will be moved to another country.

This is reported by Reuters.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said the Asian Cup was to be held in 10 Chinese cities from June 16 to July 16 next year.

"After talks with the China Football Association (CFA), the Asian Football Confederation has been officially informed by the CFA that it will not be able to host the 2023 Asian Football Cup," the confederation said.

The decision to hold the tournament will be announced after the host country is determined. Previously, the organizers postponed the Asian Games, which was to be hosted by Hangzhou in China.
