Russia's blockade of Ukrainian ports threatens to starve the entire planet - Berbok

The blocking of Ukrainian ports threatens the planet with a global famine.

This statement was made by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock.

"At present, 25 million tons of grain are blocked in the Ukrainian port of Odesa. This means food for millions of people in the world, which is badly needed, especially in Africa and the Middle East," Berbock said, addressing G7 foreign ministers.

The May 13-14 meeting, held at the Baltic resort of Weissenhaus, brought together senior diplomats from Britain, Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, the United States and the European Union.
