The number of children killed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine has risen to 241

Russia's armed aggression in Ukraine has killed 241 children, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

 

"As of the morning of May 27, 2022, more than 679 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 241 children were killed and more than 438 injured," the report said.

 

The most affected children, as noted, in the Donetsk region - 151, Kyiv - 116, Kharkiv - 108, Chernihiv - 68, Lugansk - 50, Kherson - 49, Mykolaiv - 45, Zaporozhzhia - 28, Sumy - 17, in the city of Kyiv - 16, Zhitomyr - 15.

 

These figures are not final, as work is under way to establish them in places of active combat operations, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

 

Thus, on May 26, the occupants once again shelled the city of Kharkiv with artillery. Eight civilians were killed. Among the victims was a family: a 5-month-old boy and his father were killed and his mother is in hospital. Seventeen people were wounded, including a 9-year-old girl.

 

On May 25, a 15-year-old boy was wounded as a result of enemy shelling of the town of Borovskoye in Severodonetsk District of Luhansk Region.

 

Due to constant bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces of Ukrainian towns and villages, 1,887 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 180 of them were completely destroyed, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
