Most of the captured defenders of Mariupol are in the Donetsk region - Danilov

Currently, most of the defenders of Mariupol are in the Donetsk region. This was reported by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, on the air of the Ukrainian Telethon.

When asked where the Ukrainian defenders are, Danilov replied: "As of today there is information that they are on the territory of Donetsk region. The number of people is not 100 or 200 people, you know that it is much more and therefore we cannot say that everyone is there today definitively and accurately. We can definitely say that the vast majority, maybe all, are in the Donetsk region.

Danilov also commented on the possible release of Ukrainian prisoners, including Azovstal defenders.

"Not only our country is involved in these processes, there are international institutions that help in this. The main thing here is not to do any harm. There is not much to say. Let's wait that those agreements that we have, were necessarily implemented, and all the guys and girls who are today in captivity, who passed Mariupol and not only, surely returned alive and healthy, "- said Danilov.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that there might be more than 2.5 thousand prisoners from Azovstal, who are on the territory of ORDLO.
