The Kremlin does not guarantee the fate of American volunteers

The Kremlin cannot guarantee that the American volunteers taken captive by Russia will not face the death penalty. Moscow says their fate will be decided by a court.

This was stated by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, MSNBC reported.

Asked whether the American prisoners face the death penalty, Peskov said the following: "I can't guarantee anything. It depends on the investigation.

According to the Kremlin speaker, the captured Americans have nothing to do with the AFU, and therefore they are not subject to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions.

"There will be a trial, and there will be a court decision ... They participated in the shelling of our military, they endangered their lives, and they must be held responsible for the crimes committed," Peskov said.

We shall remind you that earlier it became known that the US has information about three American volunteers who disappeared during the hostilities in Ukraine.

Later, US President Joe Biden confirmed their disappearance and urged Americans not to travel to Ukraine.

It is known that two Americans, who fought on the side of the AFU, disappeared during combat operations in Kharkiv region. They could have been captured in Russia.
