Lviv is preparing for a possible invasion by Belarusian troops. The authorities have decided to strengthen the defense of the city. This was stated by the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy.

"The situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is unpredictable and that is its greatest difficulty. Today I gathered an operational meeting with the military and civilian leadership of Lviv to understand how we will act in case of escalation from Belarus," the mayor wrote in Telegram.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to create a defense headquarters in each district of the city and conduct additional training of the tero-defenses. However, TDF is not planned to be on round-the-clock duty yet.

Also the authorities are considering the option of forming reserve volunteer battalions of employees of the City Council and utilities companies.

In addition, the city will continue to form a strategic reserve of products in case supply routes are blocked.

Sadovy urged the citizens to prepare for the cold winter and provide the possibility of heating without gas.

"It is important that Lviv residents know that the city is safe, and the enemy should not have enough information to conduct provocations," the mayor added.
