According to the Main Directorate of Defense Intelligence, Russia is planning the complete destruction of Ukraine. The Kremlin is not going to limit itself to Donbas.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, said this in an interview with RBK-Ukraine. 

As Budanov noted, he in principle is not guided by the statements of someone from some countries on the plans of the enemy. "We are guided by our own information," he said.

According to him, the GUR was the first to say "what and how will happen."

"So I can tell you with full responsibility, Russia's plans are the total destruction of Ukraine, absolute total destruction. And any insinuations about whether or not the Donbas might be enough for them, I will ask you not to even ask me such questions. We will not trade territories," Budanov added.

The head of the Defense Ministry's GUR also noted that the majority of Russians support the war in Ukraine, including rocket attacks on civilian infrastructure. Therefore, there will be no protests in Russia.

"Russia basically supports all these actions. This is actually true, you shouldn't think that Putin alone is so bad and everyone else just doesn't know what to do. They know, very clearly know and understand. Perhaps this is a consequence of long-term propaganda work with them," said Kirill Budanov.

According to Budanov, Russians mostly support everything that happens in Ukraine, including rocket attacks on civilians.

"It's not difficult now, we have the XXI century, open their sub-publics, just read the comments, what they write there. It's not Putin or Patrushev writing this, for example, no. They support it, so there will be no protests there," said the head of the Ukrainian intelligence.

In addition, Budanov believes that the right moment to change the head of the Kremlin is waiting for the economic elite, which suffered quite a lot from the war in Ukraine.

As a reminder, the Ukrainians named the only acceptable option to establish peace. Ukraine returns the territory under its control before 2014, including all of Donbas and Crimea. According to KMIS, 73% of Ukrainians consider this option for establishing peace as acceptable, 16% consider it rather acceptable, 3% consider it unacceptable, and 4% consider it rather unacceptable.
