Shoigu ordered invasion forces in Ukraine to try to destroy HIMARS

Russian Military Minister Sergey Shoygu has ordered the commander of the Russian Vostok troop grouping in Ukraine to try to find long-range AFU systems that effectively destroy Russian weapons and ammunition depots.

This was reported on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the report, instructions have been given to "prioritize the defeat of the enemy's long-range missile and artillery assets."

The Russian military department also for the first time officially named the commander of Russia's Vostok Group of Forces in Ukraine, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov. Since 2018, he was deputy commander of the troops of the Southern Military District, and from November 2020 to September 2021, he commanded the Russian "peacekeeping" contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.
