At least 1,032 children suffered because of Russia's war against Ukraine

At least 1,032 children suffered as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

 

"More than 1,032 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of July 20, 2022, the official number of child victims has not changed during the day - 353. The number of wounded has increased - 679," the report says.

 

The most injured children were in the Donetsk region - 357, Kharkiv region - 191, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Lugansk region - 61, Mykolayiv region - 53, Kherson region - 52, Zaporizhzhia region - 40.

 

These figures are not final, since work is under way to establish them in places of active combat operations, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

 

On the night of July 20, the military of the aggressor country shelled the town of Nikopol in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Three children aged 3, 5, and 15 were wounded.

 

Because of the bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces, 2,185 educational institutions were reportedly damaged. Of these, 221 were completely destroyed.
