Ukraine received the first tranche of macrofin from the EU in the amount of 500 million euros, the second will be on Tuesday

Ukraine has received the first tranche of exceptional macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of 500 million euros, on Tuesday another 500 million euros of the second tranche is expected to arrive.

 

This was reported by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in his Telegram channel.

 

"The European Union has sent Ukraine 1 billion euros of exceptional macrofinancial assistance. The first tranche of 500 million euros has already been credited to the account of the NBU. We expect the second tranche to arrive tomorrow," Shmygal wrote.

 

He recalled that 1 billion euros is part of a large package of support for Ukraine to overcome the financial consequences of the war for a total of 9 billion euros.

 

Prime Minister stressed that the funds will help to finance priority budget needs.

 

We shall remind you that on July 19, Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding on the allocation of 1 billion euros of macrofinancial assistance to Ukraine.
