Five ballistic missiles fired by the Chinese military conducting exercises in Taiwan landed for the first time in Japan's exclusive economic zone, the Japanese government said on Thursday. The Japanese Kyodo news agency wrote about it.
Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi said this is the first time a ballistic missile belonging to the Chinese military has hit Japanese waters.
"This is a serious problem that concerns the national security of our country and the safety of people," he said.
The Japanese government made a diplomatic protest to the Chinese government.
