Moscow opposes proposals for a demilitarized zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP

Moscow considers proposals to create a demilitarized zone near the Zaporizhzhya NPP unacceptable, said Ivan Nechaev, debuty director of the information and press department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Proposals regarding the demilitarized zone around Zaporizhzhya NPP are unacceptable. Their implementation will make the plant even more vulnerable," Nechayev said at a briefing on Thursday.

He noted that, as expected in Moscow, the visit of IAEA experts to the nuclear power plant will take place "in the near future".
