Inflation in the eurozone reached a record 9.1%

The index of growth of consumer prices in the Eurozone in August 2022 in relation to August 2021 may be a record 9.1%. Eurostat published such preliminary estimates on August 31.

 

 Inflation will be 9.1% in August, compared to 8.9% in July, which was also an all-time high.

 

 By categories, the prices of energy carriers increased the most (38.3% - which, however, is less than the July figure of 39.6%), food products, alcohol and tobacco (10.6%).

 

 As a reminder, the Eurozone includes Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Finland.
