One of Germany's ruling parties called for dismantling Nord Stream 2

The parliamentary faction "Free Democrats" - one of the three members of the ruling "traffic light coalition" - called for dismantling the still-unlaunched Russian gas pipeline "North Stream-2".

 This is reported by Spiegel.

"We demand the dismantling of Nord Stream 2 and the development of a concept of legal, technical and legal protection as soon as possible," reads the position paper approved at the meeting in Bremen.

"Free Democrats" note that "Nord Stream" was originally a geopolitical project aimed at isolating Ukraine, and as a result harmed Germany as well.

The party calls for the expansion of sanctions against the leadership of the Russian Federation and the expulsion from the country of relatives of Russians subject to sanctions who have visas and the right to reside in Germany.

They also note that if individual countries, including candidates for EU membership, do not rush to join the sanctions, help the Russian Federation to circumvent them or even supply Russia with weapons, there should be consequences for this.
