President Volodymyr Zelenskiy appointed Galina Luhova as the head of the Kherson City Military Administration.

 

 The corresponding order is printed on the website of the president.

 

 "To appoint Luhova Halyna Leonidovna as the head of the Kherson City Military Administration of the Kherson District of the Kherson Region," the text of the document reads.

 

 Before that, Galina Luhova was the secretary of the Kherson City Council. After the occupiers abducted the Kherson mayor Igor Kolyhaeva, she took over his duties.

 

 What is known about Halyna Luhova

 

 According to suspilne, Halyna Luhova was born on April 10, 1976 in Antonivtsi, a suburb of Kherson. Studied at Kherson State University, studied foreign languages. She worked as a teacher, headed the Antonivsk comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 21 of the Kherson City Council.

 

 She entered politics in 2015. She was chosen twice. In 2020, she was on the lists of candidates for the regional and city councils from Igor Kolikhaev's political party "Let's live here". She was appointed secretary of the Kherson City Council in 2020. Has two sons.

 

 As reported, information about the abduction of Kherson Mayor Ihor Kolyhayev by the Russian occupiers appeared on June 28.

 

 According to his advisor Galina Lyashevska, Kolyhayev's arrest is connected with his refusal to cooperate with the occupation authorities. On the eve of the abduction, he received a letter from the "newly appointed" mayor, where he invited him to discuss the future "organization of interaction." Kolykhaev did not go to the meeting.

 

 Later, the Russian occupiers admitted the kidnapping of the mayor of Kherson, Ihor Kolyhayev.
