The head of the German Defense Ministry reacted to Ukraine's intention to quickly join NATO

German Defense Minister Kristini Lambrecht was cautious about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's statement that he would apply for Ukraine's accelerated accession to NATO. She expressed her position during a visit to Moldova, Die Welt reports.

Lambrecht agreed that Ukraine has the right to choose the unions it wants to join. However, according to her, joining NATO is connected with certain requirements, and this issue should be discussed by the 30 countries of the Alliance together. At the same time, according to her, it is necessary to take into account the urgent situation in Ukraine.

"Germany will not take any steps here alone," Lambrecht said.
