Iran again denied supplying drones to Russia

Iran again denies supplying drones to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine.

This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Kanaani, reports Xinhua.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the published news about Iran's supply of drones to Russia for use in the Ukrainian conflict unfounded and does not confirm them," he said.

Kanaani also claims that since the beginning of the war, Tehran advocates "a clear policy of active neutrality and opposition to the war."

"Iran has always stated the need to resolve differences peacefully through dialogue," the agency quoted a representative of the Iranian embassy as saying.

 Iranian drones in Ukraine

As you know, back in July, the USA warned that Russia had asked Iran to provide it with a hundred combat drones to use in the war against Ukraine. Later it became known that representatives of Russia had already flown twice to Iran to inspect the UAV.

For the first time, Iranian UAVs were shot down over Ukraine on September 13. At the same time, the air target was landed near Kupyansk, Kharkiv region. It is worth noting that Iranian drones are used in Ukraine under a different name. The occupiers rename "Shahed-136" to "Geran-2".

Due to the supply of combat drones to Russia, the Ukrainian side decided to deprive the Iranian ambassador to Ukraine of accreditation, as well as to significantly reduce the number of diplomatic staff at the Iranian embassy in Kyiv. Tehran, in turn, announced the alleged "influence of third countries" on Ukraine's decisions.

It is worth noting that the Russian troops have recently been quite actively using Iranian drones in the war against Ukraine. Only tonight, the occupiers launched about 12 kamikaze drones in the Kyiv region. As a result of the attack, infrastructure objects were damaged, and there is also an injured person.
