The press secretary of the White House commented on the "peaceful initiatives" of the American businessman Elon Musk, who offered Ukraine to give up Crimea and declare neutrality to end the war with Russia.
She made her reaction public at a briefing on October 4.
According to her, everything related to Ukraine will not be discussed without Ukraine.
"That's their decision when it comes to any diplomacy or negotiations on this matter. And so I leave it up to the Ukrainian people. But, you know, we're going to make sure that we stand with the Ukrainians as they fight for their sovereignty. And this decision regarding their sovereignty, freedom, democracy will be made together with them," White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said.
It will be recalled that the founder of Tesla, Elon Musk, published a survey on Twitter in which he proposed to recognize the Russian annexation of Crimea and hold elections in the occupied territories "under the supervision of the UN" for "peace between Ukraine and Russia".
The American inventor's tweets caused a wave of criticism, including from representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda responded to Musk with a story about stolen Tesla wheels.
Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anushauskas believes that Musk "caught the bait" of the Kremlin, which is blackmailing the world with nuclear weapons.
