French President Emmanuel Macron promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that he would help Kyiv strengthen its air defense. This is reported on the page of the Elysee Palace.
Macron told Zelenskiy about this during a telephone conversation that took place today. The President of France confirmed the full mobilization of his country for the fastest possible increase in military support to Ukraine, in particular regarding air defense.
"President Macron also expressed his determination to help Ukraine face the approaching winter, when the Russians have caused significant damage to the country's electricity and water supply infrastructure. He noted that France will increase its support in this regard," the message said.
Zelenskiy discussed with Macron Russia's suspension of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain through the sea corridor. The President of France condemned Russia's unilateral decision, which is once again harming world food security. The presidents also discussed the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, where the pressure of the Russian army on Ukrainian personnel further endangers the station's safety.
Macron recalled Russia's false claims that Ukraine was preparing a "dirty bomb" and hailed Ukraine's exemplary transparency, which immediately allowed the IAEA mission to arrive on the scene to demonstrate that Ukraine was fully abiding by its agreement on safeguards and the removal of baseless accusations.
"The two presidents agreed to organize an international conference on December 13 in Paris to support the stability of the country in the winter period. To this end, preparatory work with other partners of Ukraine will begin in the near future. In addition, the two presidents also agreed to organize a bilateral conference aimed at mobilizing French companies. which will take place on December 12," they added in conclusion.
