Tehran claims that it supplied drones before the start of Russia's war against Ukraine

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein-Amir Abdullahian on Saturday admitted for the first time that his country had supplied Russia with drones, insisting that the transfer took place before the start of Moscow's war with Ukraine, during which Iranian drones attacked Ukrainian territory, media reported.

"We handed over a limited number of drones to Russia a few months before the war in Ukraine," Abdullahian told reporters in Tehran.

After confirming the supply, Abdullahian said on Saturday that Iran was not paying attention to the use of its drones in Ukraine.

He stated that Iran is still committed to ending the conflict. "We agreed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to provide us with any evidence of Russia's use of Iranian drones in Ukraine," Abdullahian said.

Earlier, Iranian officials denied arming Russia in the war with Ukraine.
