Scholz criticized Putin for refusing to go to the G20

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for refusing to attend the G20 Heads of State and Government meeting in Bali.

 Spiegel writes about it.

"It would be good if President Putin went to the G20 summit," Scholz said on Sunday in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi.

"But then he would have to face all the questions and all the criticism that was formulated by many countries of the world. That is probably why he is not here," he added.

According to the chancellor, Putin's absence will not prevent other countries from criticizing Russia's aggressive war and calling on Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine and create conditions for peace talks.

As you know, Russia will be represented at the G20 summit by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
