Reuters: The US and Russia once used a special military communication line since the beginning of the war in Ukraine

At the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a military special communication line was established between Moscow and the United States to resolve conflict situations. It was used only once in nine months. An American official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

As noted, the line connects the European Command of the US Armed Forces and the Russian Federation's National Defense Management Center.

"The United States initiated a call on the deconfliction hotline to report its concern over Russian military operations near critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine," the government official said.

He did not specify which event was the reason for the call, but emphasized that it was not the fall of a missile on the territory of Poland during the massive missile attack on Ukraine on November 15.

As Reuters writes, it may have been about Russia's actions around the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

"Ukraine also expressed concern that Russia could blow up the Kakhovka dam, which holds back a huge reservoir in the south of Ukraine. Blowing up the dam would lead to the flooding of settlements below, in particular in the direction of the strategic regional center of Kherson, which Ukrainian troops recaptured on November 11," - the material says.
