The construction of SP-2 was the contribution of Germany to the resolution of the war in Ukraine - the head of the German Ministry of Justice

The head of the Ministry of Justice of Germany, Marko Buschmann, said that by supporting the construction of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, Germany contributed to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. He announced this in his welcoming speech at the meeting of justice ministers of the G7 countries in Berlin, the press service of the agency reports.

"Taking into account what we are doing today, the decision to implement Nord Stream 2 after the annexation of Crimea in 2014 was Germany's contribution to the resolution of the war in Ukraine. I believe that it is our duty to look each other in the eye and draw the right conclusions from this," said Buschmann.

At the same time, he stated that the German authorities "firmly stand" on the side of Ukraine.

"Global freedom and security can have a future only if the international community puts Russia in its place right now," the minister emphasized.

According to him, the history of the 20th century shows that when you are dealing with a dictator who supports territorial expansion, the policy of appeasement "will never be successful."

"Dictators see appeasement as an invitation to continue their acts of aggression and lawlessness," Bushmann said.
