Ukraine in the "first wave" will receive from the allies 120 modern Western tanks - Kulebа

According to the results of the first promises from partners, Ukraine should receive from 120 to 140 units of modern Western tanks.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba stated this at the briefing.

He noted that there are 12 states in the tank coalition, and not all of them can be named yet, as some still have to make decisions in accordance with their internal procedures.

"I can only note that in the first waves of contributions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive from 120 to 140 units of modern tanks of Western models. These are Leopard 2, Challenger 2, M1 Abrams. And we are counting on the Leclerc. This is a considerable number, but we continue to work on expanding the inventory of the tank coalition, and an increase in the number of already declared tanks," Dmytro Kuleba noted.

"I am convinced that the new consensus of the allies regarding the support of Ukraine should include determination and consistency. The Armed Forces should receive all types of weapons and restore the territorial integrity of our state," he added.

According to him, the types of weapons that Ukraine still needs are primarily fighter jets and long-range missiles that can hit targets at a distance of up to 300 km, and Ukrainian diplomats are working on unlocking these solutions.
