American DFC will allocate 250 million dollars to support Ukrainian business - Shmyhal

The American International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) will allocate 250 million dollars to support small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"Supporting Ukrainian business is one of the five priorities for rapid recovery. For this, we are allocating funds from the state budget and looking for resources from international partners. Today, we agreed with the American Corporation for Financing International Development that it will attract $250 million for support of small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine," the head of government said.

According to Shmyhal, Ukraine is working with partners to bring foreign investment back to the country "already now" and to encourage the private sector to participate in reconstruction projects. He noted that for this purpose officials are carrying out deregulation, privatization, as well as preparing public-private partnership projects, transferring services to "digital", introducing tax benefits for investors.

"We are building a free economic space, where the investor will feel comfortable. After all, the private sector is the basis of our economy, and it will become a key element of Ukraine's recovery after the war," said the prime minister.

On Friday, January 27, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a draft law proposing to return enterprises to the taxation system that operated before the introduction of the preferential regime of 2%, subject to the termination or cancellation of martial law, but no later than July 1 of this year.
