The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine announced that it will hold a meeting on February 3 to discuss a possible boycott of the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 if athletes from Russia and Belarus are allowed to return to international sports arenas.

 The decision to hold the Extraordinary XXXIX General Assembly of the NOC of Ukraine was made by the Executive Committee of the NOC of Ukraine in connection with the publication of the IOC statement "On solidarity with Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus and the status of athletes from these countries", which allows under certain conditions the return of athletes from Russia and RB international competitions, including the 2024 Olympics.

 

 The IOC published a statement suggesting that Russians and Belarusians will be able to compete at the Olympics in Paris under a neutral flag.

 

 Later, the IOC commented on the possible admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions. The organization noted that the performance under the neutral flag has proven itself well.

 

 The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Vadym Gutzait, stated that Ukraine may refuse to participate in the 2024 Olympics, which should be held in Paris, due to the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the competition.
