The European Union will announce the provision of an additional aid package of 400 million euros to Ukraine to support the reform process.

 This was announced on Thursday in Brussels by European Commissioner for Budget Johannes Hahn, writes Bloomberg.

 According to him, soon the bloc will also propose to extend the suspension of all tariffs and trade protection measures on Ukrainian imports.

 In addition, it will be proposed to suspend Ukraine's financial contributions for participation in EU programs as long as financial problems remain in the country.

 On Thursday, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and 15 members of the European Commission arrived in Kyiv for consultations with the Ukrainian government.

 On February 3, the Ukraine-EU summit will be held in Kyiv.

 According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, the central issue of the Ukraine-EU summit will be the evaluation of the progress that Ukraine has already achieved and the further opening of accession negotiations, and many other topics related to Russia's war against Ukraine will also be touched upon.

 After the meeting, the leaders will confirm in writing that the future of Ukraine and its citizens is connected with the European Union. But in reality, the prospect of Ukraine joining the EU remains remote.
