Today, the German government is to issue permission to the defense concern Rheinmetall and Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) to supply Ukraine with 187 Leopard 1 tanks.

 This is reported by the German Business Insider.

 It is reported that Rheinmetall will deliver 88 units of tanks, another 99 will come from FFG.

 At the same time, Ukraine may not receive the first tanks before the middle of this year. The exact amount of equipment is still unknown.

 Business Insider notes that many Leopard 1s require repair and it is not yet clear whether it is possible to use the entire batch on the battlefield, or whether some of the equipment will go to spare parts.

 Earlier, the German mass media reported that Ukraine could receive up to 160 Leopard 1 tanks from German industrial warehouses.

 At the same time, the German government has already approved the supply of 88 of its Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine. However, the country may have problems with ammunition for them.
