NATO Secretary General invited Zelenskyi to the summit in Vilnius

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that he invited President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to participate in the Alliance summit in Vilnius in July.

He told about this in an interview with LRT.

"I invited President Zelenskyi to participate in the NATO summit in Vilnius. I firmly believe that this will be a strong sign of our solidarity, the support that the allies provide to Ukraine, and I hope that Mr. Zelenskyi will be able to attend. Of course, it will depend on the situation in Ukraine, which is still in a state of war," said the Secretary General.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Lithuania Petro Beshta stated in February that President Zelenskyi plans to personally visit the NATO summit in Vilnius.

Then the ambassador said that Ukraine is waiting for an invitation.

Since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24 last year, Zelensky has visited the United States, Great Britain, France and Brussels.

Stoltenberg expressed hope that new steps and measures and long-term support for Ukraine will be agreed at the summit.

On September 30, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that Ukraine had signed an application for accelerated accession to NATO.

The Russian invasion led to an increase in the Euro-Atlantic sentiment of Ukrainians to record levels - 86% of Ukrainians are in favor of joining the Alliance.
