"Enough to violate justice", - Kyslytsia urged to prevent Russia from presiding over the UN Security Council

According to the UN schedule, in April 2023, Russia should take over the presidency of the Security Council for a month. Ukraine strongly opposes such a decision.

This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia.

He recalled how on February 24, 2022, the night of the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called it "the saddest day of his tenure."

"In fact, it will be the saddest thing in the history of the UN until April 1, 2023, when, if justice does not prevail, Russia will take over the presidency of the Security Council. Enough with violating justice and canceling the UN Charter! The responsibility is now," Kislytsia wrote.

We will recall that Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that Russia usurped the seat of a permanent member of the Security Council more than 30 years ago and turned it into its "throne of impunity." There is no place for her now.

As previously reported, the United States is holding consultations with various countries of the world regarding the reform of the UN Security Council, but cannot exclude Russia from its membership.
