French President Emmanuel Macron has commented on the protests in Tbilisi and the decision by the Georgian authorities to withdraw the bill on "foreign agents", saying that Georgians' commitment to democracy has not gone unnoticed.

 "Georgians' commitment to democratic values, freedom of speech and freedom of association is heard. Georgia, turned to Europe, knows that it can count on the friendship of France," Macron wrote.

 Earlier, the EU stated that the adoption of the draft law "On transparency of foreign influence" is incompatible with the implementation of recommendations for Georgia to acquire the status of a candidate for the European Union. In Brussels, the ruling Georgian Dream party was praised for its decision to withdraw the draft law.
