"It's a game changer." The European Union commented on the warrant for Putin's arrest

If Vladimir Putin goes to one of the more than 130 countries that signed the international agreement, he should be immediately arrested.

 The International Criminal Court's decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin should be taken seriously, as it changes the rules of the game.

 Such a statement was made by the high representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, in Brussels.

 He noted that two important events took place last week in the context of the war on the territory of Ukraine:

 continuation of the Black Sea Grain Agreement;

 issuance of arrest warrants for the dictator Vladimir Putin and the Commissioner for Children's Rights in Russia, Maria Lvova-Belova.

  "The second event is also important - this is the decision of the International Criminal Court regarding President Putin. This is very important, it is a game changer. Despite the fact that the Russian authorities deny this decision, because, they say, Russia is not a signatory of this agreement, it is necessary to look at the practical consequences of this decision," Borrell said.

 Therefore, according to him, if Putin travels to one of the more than 130 countries that have signed this international agreement, he should be immediately arrested.

 At the same time, the high representative of the European Union noted that the decision of the International Criminal Court should be taken very seriously.

 It will be recalled that the International Criminal Court, which is based in The Hague, Netherlands, issued a warrant for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This means that he can be detained on the territory of other countries for trial, but Moscow has already declared the alleged "legal nullity" of the warrant.
