The President of Serbia will ignore the summit of the Council of Europe and will not vote in support of Ukraine

The President of Serbia Oleksandr Vucic said that he will not go to the summit of the member states of the Council of Europe, which will be held in Iceland on May 16-17.

This was reported by Radio Slobodna Europa.

According to Vučić, he together with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacić decided that Serbia "should be represented at the lowest level".

"I will not go to Reykjavik, and we will not vote for their declaration, we will abstain," he said.

Vucic added that such a decision was taken after the refusal to accept Serbia's amendment to the declaration, which refers to respect for the territorial integrity of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. Belgrade suggested adding the wording "and all other countries that are members of the Council of Europe".

"We are ready to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, but we are not ready to give up the territorial integrity of Serbia so easily," he said.
