Permanent representatives of the member states of the European Union approved sanctions against Moldovan individuals involved in the destabilization of Moldova and the undermining of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
According to his data, the agreed sanctions list included two persons whom the EU accuses of undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and five more involved in the destabilization of Moldova.
"These are the first persons subject to sanctions under the new sanctions regime," Jozwiak adds.
At the end of April, the Council of the EU adopted a new sanctions regime for the destabilization of Moldova. Sanctions will consist of freezing assets and a ban on providing funds for individuals and legal entities, as well as a ban on travel to the EU for individuals.
According to the media, this list may include fugitive oligarchs Volodymyr Plahotniuk and Ilan Shor, top deputy of the Shor party Marina Tauber, as well as former deputy head of the General Inspectorate of Police Giorgii Kavkaliuk, who is wanted in Moldova, and Russian businessman Ihor Chaika .
It will be recalled that Moldova previously called on the European Union to impose sanctions on politicians and oligarchs who help Russia destabilize the country.
