In the direction of Bakhmut, our troops switched from defense to offensive - Malyar

In the direction of Bakhmut, Ukrainian troops have switched from defense to offensive, advancing from 200 to 1,100 meters per day, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar reported in Telegram.

"The epicenter of hostilities remains the east. On the Bakhmut direction, our troops switched from defense to offensive. In the past day, we have progressed on various sections of the Bakhmut direction from 200 to 1,100 meters," Malyar wrote.

According to her, the enemy in this direction went on the defensive, trying to hold their positions. "Now the enemy is withdrawing its reserves in this direction from the depth for protection," the official said.

Malyar indicated that the "Wagnerians" remain in some places in the rear units. "As of today, combat operations are being conducted by the regular army of Russia, involving amphibious assault units," she said.

"It has been possible to hold the defense of the Bakhmut direction for so long and now to advance on it thanks to the fortifications prepared in advance. The entire area around is actually a fortified area. Fortifications were prepared in advance by the forces of our troops and local military administrations. They were built capitally," said Malyar.

The commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the Defense Forces continue to move forward on the flanks in the direction of Bakhmut, while the Russian army is losing positions near Bakhmut.
