Ukrainian Navy attacked and disabled five Russian landing ships - Pletenchuk

Since the beginning of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian Navy has managed to neutralize five of the six large landing ships belonging to the Russian Federation. This was announced by Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk during a telethon.


The first case was the sinking of the Saratov, which was attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the port of the temporarily occupied Berdiansk on March 24, 2022. Also at this time, the landing ships Caesar Kunikov and Novocherkassk were damaged and a fire broke out.

 

A fourth ship, the Olenegorskiy Gornyak, was the next target, having been hit by a maritime drone in the port of Novorossiysk on August 4. The vessel is currently undergoing repairs.

 

Dmytro Pletenchuk has not yet disclosed any additional information about the last fifth target, which was neutralized.
