British Intelligence: Russia is building a new army for operations in southern Ukraine

According to British intelligence, Russian troops have begun forming a new army to be deployed in southern Ukraine. The information about the creation of the 18th Combined Arms Army came from the UK Ministry of Defense intelligence.

It is reported that the new Russian army may be an amalgamation of various military units already operating in the Kherson region, including the 22nd Army Corps, which is usually based in the occupied Crimea.

According to British sources, the 18th Army of the Russian Federation is likely to consist of mobilized forces and focus on defensive operations in southern Ukraine.

British intelligence experts claim that Russia may be intending to release more experienced units to fight in key areas. This may be evidenced by the deployment of Russian airborne troops from Kherson region to the Orikhiv sector of Zaporizhzhia region.
