South Korea will soon provide Ukraine with "Rhino" machines for breaking through minefields. This was reported by the Chosun publication with reference to sources in the South Korean government.
According to the sources, these vehicles will be used for demining and creating passages in minefields at the front. Despite the fact that it is not a lethal weapon, the "Rhino" can be used to break through enemy defense lines.
Currently, Ukraine will receive only two such vehicles.
"Rhino" is equipped with a mine-clearing plow and a digging boom based on the K1A1 tank. It serves as an engineering weapon to secure maneuvering routes by clearing mines and overcoming various obstacles. The machine plows the ground with a plow from the front, looking for buried mines, and has a magnetically sensitive device to neutralize landmines by emitting a magnetic field to remove them, which allows detecting landmines at a distance of up to 5 meters.
